Keeping church and state separate

"Every time in history the state has acted on behalf of God, blood has flowed in the streets. God may work through the state as God chooses, but that does not mean everything the state does is God's will.

Keeping church and state separate makes it possible for the faith community to remind the state of its temporal limitations as needed."

Imagine that was written by some liberal secular communist? Nope, it was the Reverend James L. Evans. Obviously, he's one of those Northern big city preachers. Wrong again, Skippy. The Reverend is pastor of Auburn First Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama.

Reverend Evans doesn't believe that the Ten Commandments should be displayed on public space. Oddly enough he has ten reasons. I won't reprint them here, but I urge you to take a moment and read "10 reasons displays shouldn't be allowed." Another reprint
