To the Moon

My daughter and I were having a little father/daughter time. She loves when I lift her high into the air. She calls it going "to the moon." I sat down winded and told her someday she'd be too big for me to lift to the moon.

I guess the saddness was plain on my face. Sat sat beside me and gave me a little hug. So seriously she said "When I get to be a mommy I'll have a little baby you can lift to the moon."

It would be kind of weird if that WASN'T true...

Age 15: "DAD! Put me down! You're
embarrassing me in front
of my friends!"

Age 25: "DAD! Put me down!! You're
embarrassing me in front of
my fiance's parents!"

Age 45: "DAD!! Put me DOWN!! You're
embarrasing me in front of
the stockholders!"

Age 65: "That's right, Dave -- my dad can
still lift me over his head, and
he's 105! He's in the audience,
you want to see?"
